The ELKHART PRODUCTS TEE-3X2X3 is a WROT copper reducing tee designed for sweat-solder copper piping systems. It provides a 3-inch run with a 2-inch branch outlet, allowing flow reduction or branch takeoff within a pressurized water distribution or hydronic heating line. Fabricated from wrought copper, it delivers consistent wall thickness and reliable solder joint performance. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and commercial systems where a branch line of smaller diameter must be tapped off a larger main. The solder-type connection on all three ports requires proper flux application and torch work per standard trade practice.
This reducing tee is suited for potable water supply, hydronic heating, and general plumbing distribution systems where a 3-inch main line requires a 2-inch branch. The C x C x C (sweat) connection pattern makes it compatible with standard copper tubing on all ports. It is appropriate for both above-ground and in-wall installations where copper is the specified pipe material. The fitting carries the WROT designation, indicating wrought construction rather than cast, which is preferred in high-pressure or vibration-prone runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3-inch copper main lines with a 2-inch branch, compatible with standard Type K, L, or M copper tubing using sweat-solder joints.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line and drain the section before cutting in the fitting. Clean all pipe ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth, apply lead-free flux, and sweat-solder with a torch per ASTM B32 solder specifications. Do not apply heat to a pressurized or wet line.
