The ELKHART PRODUCTS TEE-3X2X2 is a wrot copper reducing tee designed for use in pressurized water supply and distribution piping systems. It connects a 3-inch main run to two 2-inch branch or run outlets using a standard solder-type C x C x C joint configuration. Wrot copper fittings are manufactured from wrought copper, which produces a denser grain structure than cast fittings and is the standard choice for commercial and residential pressure piping. At 2.359 pounds, this fitting is a substantial, full-body connection point appropriate for trunk-and-branch and loop-type systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a 3-inch main line must transition down to 2-inch branch lines. Common applications include main water service distribution manifolds, recirculation loops, and mechanical room header assemblies. The solder-joint end connections conform to standard copper tube sizing and are compatible with type K, L, and M copper tubing in the corresponding nominal sizes.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper solder fitting for use in residential and commercial copper pressure piping systems using nominal 3-inch and 2-inch copper tube.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local codes. Shut off and drain the affected water supply line completely before cutting or fitting. Clean all tube ends and fitting cups with emery cloth or fitting brush, apply flux, and solder using lead-free solder per ASTM B32 as required by code for potable water systems. Do not apply flame directly to the fitting socket for extended periods, as overheating can damage the fitting and compromise the joint.
