The ELKHART PRODUCTS TEE-3X212X2 is a wrot copper reducing tee designed for soldered copper piping systems. It connects a 3-inch main run to a 2-1/2-inch run outlet and a 2-inch branch outlet using a CxCxC (cup-by-cup-by-cup) sweat connection on all three ports. Wrot copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness and a smooth interior surface, making it well-suited for pressure piping applications in plumbing, hydronic heating, and mechanical systems. At 2.366 pounds, this is a substantial fitting appropriate for larger-diameter commercial and industrial installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This reducing tee is used in larger-diameter copper piping systems where a main line must branch to two different pipe sizes. Typical applications include commercial plumbing distribution mains, hydronic heating supply and return piping, chilled water systems, and mechanical room headers where flow is split or redirected. The three-way sweat configuration allows direct integration into existing copper runs without adapters, provided the connecting pipe sizes match the 3-inch, 2-1/2-inch, and 2-inch ports.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper sweat fitting for use in standard Type L or Type K copper piping systems where CxCxC reducing tee connections are required at 3 inches by 2-1/2 inches by 2 inches.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the IPC or applicable local plumbing code. Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system and allow all pipes to cool completely before cutting or soldering. Clean all mating pipe ends and fitting cups thoroughly with emery cloth and apply lead-free flux before soldering. Do not apply excessive heat to the fitting body, as overheating can damage the copper and compromise the joint integrity.
