The ELKHART PRODUCTS 1" X 1/2" is a wrot copper reducer coupling with stop, designed to connect two copper tubes of different diameters in a sweat-solder plumbing system. The integrated stop ensures consistent insertion depth during assembly, reducing the chance of misalignment before soldering. At 0.104 pounds, this fitting is lightweight and compact, fitting easily into tight spaces in residential and light commercial plumbing rough-in work. It is installed by licensed plumbers and experienced pipefitters wherever a line must step down from a 1-inch to a 1/2-inch copper run.
This reducer coupling is suited for domestic water supply systems, hydronic heating distribution lines, and refrigeration piping that uses sweat connections. It is commonly found in new construction and retrofit applications where a main trunk line reduces to a branch or fixture supply. The CxC (copper-to-copper) end configuration makes it compatible with standard Type K, L, and M copper tube in the sizes indicated.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper sweat fitting for use with standard 1-inch and 1/2-inch copper tube in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting and fitting. Clean all tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply flux per the flux manufacturer instructions before soldering. Allow the joint to cool completely before restoring system pressure.
