The ELKHART PRODUCTS FR-2X114 is a wrot copper fitting reducer designed to transition between 2-inch and 1-1/4-inch copper pipe in pressurized plumbing systems. It uses a FTG x C (fitting-to-copper) connection, meaning the larger end accepts a copper fitting socket and the smaller end accepts standard copper tubing, both joined by solder. Wrot copper construction delivers consistent wall thickness, high pressure tolerance, and reliable long-term performance in potable water and hydronic applications. This reducer is installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters during new construction, retrofit, and repair work.
This reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems where pipe size must step down from a 2-inch main or branch to a 1-1/4-inch run. Typical applications include water distribution mains, recirculation lines, and hydronic heating supply or return piping. The FTG x C end configuration makes it straightforward to integrate into existing copper systems during service or expansion work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for copper pipe systems requiring a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch concentric reduction with FTG x C end connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the water system and drain the affected lines before cutting or fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before applying heat; use lead-free solder where required by local code for potable water service. Avoid overheating the fitting during soldering, as excessive heat can damage adjacent fittings or valves.
