The ELKHART PRODUCTS 45ELL-112 is a 45-degree copper elbow fitting designed for sweat-solder copper tubing systems in residential and commercial plumbing installations. Part of the KLEENFIT product line, this fitting arrives cleaned and bagged to meet flux-ready installation requirements, reducing prep time in the field. The 1-1/2 inch by 1-1/2 inch cup-by-cup (C x C) connection accepts standard copper tubing on both ends and is joined using conventional solder and flux. Weighing 0.343 pounds, it is a direct-solder, no-thread fitting suited for water supply, hydronic, and general-purpose copper piping applications.
This elbow is used wherever a 45-degree change of direction is required in a copper tubing run. Typical applications include domestic water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution piping, and plumbing rough-in work in both new construction and retrofit projects. The KLEENFIT cleaning and bagging process makes it well suited for medical gas, laboratory, and high-purity water systems where pre-cleaned fittings are specified, in addition to standard plumbing use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting compatible with standard 1-1/2 inch copper tubing using sweat-solder (C x C) joints per ASTM B16.22 dimensions.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using standard copper sweat-soldering tools including a torch, flux, and lead-free solder in accordance with local plumbing codes and IFGC or IPC requirements where applicable. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into an existing line. Clean pipe ends and fittings with emery cloth or a fitting brush, apply flux, and solder per standard practice. Do not overheat the fitting or allow solder to pool inside the cup, as this can restrict flow.
