The ELKHART PRODUCTS 2 X 1 1/4 is a wrot copper reducer coupling with stop, designed to transition a 2-inch pipe down to a 1-1/4-inch pipe within a copper water supply or hydronic system. Manufactured from wrot copper using a C x C (cup-to-cup) configuration, it connects via standard solder joints for a leak-tight, permanent connection. The built-in stop positions each pipe end at the correct depth before soldering, which improves joint consistency during installation. This fitting is a standard workhorse for licensed plumbers working on residential and light commercial piping systems.
This reducer coupling is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating runs, and general copper plumbing applications where a concentric reduction from 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch is required. It is installed wherever a branch line or fixture group draws from a larger main, and is commonly found in new construction rough-in, remodel work, and system retrofits. The solder-type connection follows standard sweat-fitting practice and is compatible with both hard and soft copper tube.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper sweat fitting compatible with standard 2-inch and 1-1/4-inch copper tube conforming to ASTM B88 Type K, L, and M specifications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers following IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the line before cutting and fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply flux before soldering; use lead-free solder for potable water systems as required by code. Allow joints to cool fully before restoring flow or pressure-testing the system.
