The ELKHART PRODUCTS 2" X 1/2" wrot copper fitting reducer is a solder-type reducing fitting used to transition between a 2-inch and 1/2-inch copper line in plumbing and mechanical piping systems. Configured with a FTG (fitting) end and a C (copper tube) end, it connects directly into a sweat-soldered assembly without adapters. The wrot copper construction provides consistent wall thickness and clean internal flow paths suited to potable water, hydronic, and light commercial applications. This fitting is handled and installed by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This reducer is used in residential and light commercial copper piping systems where a significant diameter change is required along a run. The FTG x C configuration makes it compatible with standard sweat-solder assemblies, allowing the fitting end to receive a copper tube directly. Typical applications include supply line reductions, branch takeoffs, and piping rework where a 2-inch main must step down to a 1/2-inch branch or service line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for standard 2-inch to 1/2-inch copper sweat piping assemblies in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and drain the water supply completely before cutting into any existing copper line. Clean and flux all mating surfaces before applying heat; use lead-free solder where required by code for potable water systems. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring pressure to the line.
