The ELKHART PRODUCTS 1 1/2 X 3 is a wrot copper fitting reducer designed to transition between a 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch copper line in a soldered plumbing assembly. The FTG x C (fitting-to-copper) end configuration allows one end to receive a copper fitting and the other to accept standard copper tube, making it a common choice for reducing supply branch lines in residential and light commercial water distribution systems. At 0.200 pounds and compact in form, this Model 118 reducer is well-suited to tight rough-in situations where a clean, low-profile transition is needed.
This reducer sees typical use in domestic hot and cold water supply piping where a main run must be stepped down to a smaller branch. The wrot (wrought) copper construction meets the demands of both above-ground and in-wall installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of sweat-solder assemblies on Type L or Type M copper tubing runs in new construction, renovation, and service-replacement applications.
Designed as an OEM-style wrot copper solder fitting for use with standard 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch copper tube and fittings in residential and light commercial water supply piping systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with IPC or applicable local plumbing codes. Shut off the water supply and fully drain the affected line before cutting or fitting. Both mating surfaces must be cleaned, deburred, and fluxed prior to soldering; use only lead-free solder and flux where required by code. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring system pressure.
