The ELGEN sf0035 is a press-on takeoff fitting designed for branch connections in sheet metal duct systems. Constructed from 24-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel, it provides a corrosion-resistant connection point where a branch duct taps off a main trunk. The 7-inch size suits common residential and light-commercial supply runs. HVAC sheet metal installers use this fitting to establish a secure, airtight lateral connection without the need for additional fasteners during initial placement, speeding up rough-in work on forced-air systems.
This fitting is used in forced-air HVAC ductwork installations, primarily in residential and light-commercial construction and retrofit applications. It mounts directly onto rectangular or round trunk duct depending on the matching trunk collar, allowing a branch run to diverge from the main supply or return. The press-on design is common in new construction where installers are running multiple takeoffs along a main trunk in sequence.
Designed as an OEM-style sheet metal component for use in standard forced-air HVAC duct systems requiring a 7-inch press-on branch takeoff connection.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal workers in accordance with SMACNA duct construction standards. Power down the air handling unit before cutting into any existing trunk duct. Secure the takeoff with sheet metal screws and seal all joints with UL 181-listed mastic or foil tape per local mechanical code requirements. Do not leave joints unsealed, as air leakage at branch connections reduces system efficiency and can cause pressure imbalance.
