The ELECTRO HARDWARE MP449M03F21M2.5 is a female hex circuit board standoff designed to mount and space printed circuit boards within electronic enclosures and control panels. Machined from brass with a clear zinc chromate (zinc-plated) finish that meets ASTM B633 Type 1 and QQ-B-626 Comp 22 standards, this standoff provides a threaded female receiver on one end to accept a mating screw. The metric M2.5 x 0.45 thread runs to a depth of 4.8 mm, and the overall length is 25 mm. The hexagonal body measures 4.5 mm across flats, allowing a standard nut driver or hex wrench to seat and torque the standoff securely without slipping.
This standoff is used in residential and commercial electronic assemblies wherever PCB spacing, isolation, or secure mounting is required. Typical applications include HVAC control boards, electrical control panels, motor drives, and general-purpose electronics enclosures. The metric M2.5 thread size is common in compact PCB assemblies and instrument housings. Electricians, controls technicians, and electronics assemblers install these standoffs during panel builds, board replacements, or enclosure modifications where consistent board-to-surface clearance is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation standoff for printed circuit board assemblies requiring a metric M2.5 x 0.45 female hex standoff with a 25 mm overall length.
Installation is typically performed by electricians or electronics assembly technicians. Always de-energize and lock out the control panel or enclosure before installing or removing circuit board standoffs. Use an appropriately sized nut driver or hex wrench matched to the 4.5 mm across-flats hex body to seat the standoff without damaging the board or enclosure material. Follow applicable NEC guidelines and equipment manufacturer instructions when working inside energized control enclosures.
