The ELECTRO HARDWARE ECLS-832-1 is a round head clinch captive nut designed for permanent installation into sheet metal panels and enclosures. It uses a clinching installation method that cold-forms the nut into the parent material, creating a flush, vibration-resistant threaded insert without welding or secondary fasteners. The 8-32 thread size and 0.31-inch head diameter make it suitable for light-gauge assemblies. Fabricated from 18-8 stainless steel with a passivated finish, it resists corrosion in exposed or high-humidity environments. Electricians, panel fabricators, and sheet metal technicians install this type of hardware during enclosure and chassis assembly work.
This clinch nut is applied in sheet metal panels, electrical enclosures, HVAC control cabinets, and similar light-gauge assemblies where a permanent threaded fastener is required on the reverse face of the material. It requires a minimum panel thickness of 0.0399 inches to achieve proper clinch engagement. The 0.213-inch mounting hole diameter must be maintained for correct seating. It is packaged in quantities of 25 units per package, suited for both single-job use and small-batch production runs.
Designed as a standard clinch captive nut for light-gauge sheet metal panels and enclosures requiring 8-32 threaded inserts with a minimum panel thickness of 0.0399 inches.
Installation requires a clinching press or squeeze tool to cold-form the nut into the prepared mounting hole. Power down and de-energize any enclosure or panel before installing or servicing hardware. Verify the mounting hole diameter is held to 0.213 inches for proper clinch engagement and flush seating. Follow applicable facility and assembly standards for fastener torque when threading mating screws into the installed nut.
