The ELECTRO HARDWARE 1451M09F16-832 is a male-female hex circuit board standoff designed to create precise spacing between PCBs and mounting surfaces in electronic enclosures and control panels. Machined from 18-8 and Grade 303 stainless steel with an anodized finish, this standoff meets QQ-S-763 fastener standards for dimensional and material consistency. It features an 8-32 thread size with a 3/8-inch male thread length on one end and a 7/16-inch female threaded depth on the other. The hex body measures 1/4 inch across flats, and the overall length is 1.375 inches. HVAC technicians and electricians install these fasteners when assembling or servicing control boards inside furnace, air handler, or electrical enclosure panels.
This standoff is used in applications where circuit boards must be elevated and secured at a fixed, repeatable height from a chassis or backplane. The hex body allows for wrench engagement during installation, making it suitable for tight enclosures where finger tightening alone is not sufficient. Common install scenarios include residential and light commercial HVAC control board mounting, industrial control panel assembly, and field replacement of damaged PCB hardware during service calls. The 1-inch hex body length combined with the overall 1.375-inch length provides adequate clearance for most standard through-hole PCB assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fastener for circuit board mounting applications using 8-32 threaded hardware in standard hex standoff configurations.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or HVAC technicians during control board service or panel assembly. Always de-energize the equipment and follow applicable NEC lockout-tagout procedures before working inside any electrical enclosure. Use an appropriately sized wrench on the hex body to avoid deforming the standoff during tightening. Do not overtighten, as stainless fasteners are susceptible to galling when threaded into stainless tapped holes without lubrication.
