The ELECTRO HARDWARE 1317M12F21440 is a male-female hex circuit board standoff designed to create precise spacing between PCBs and mounting surfaces in electronic assemblies. The fastener features a 4-40 threaded stud on the male end and a 4-40 threaded bore on the female end, with a body length of 0.625 inches and a hex width across flats of 0.1875 inches. Constructed from steel with a zinc-plated finish meeting ASTM B633 Type 1 and QQ-S-633 standards, it provides corrosion resistance suitable for panel-mount and enclosure applications. Electronics technicians, HVAC controls installers, and electrical panel assemblers use these standoffs to secure and stack circuit boards at fixed intervals.
This standoff is used in residential and commercial electronic control assemblies where PCBs must be mounted with consistent clearance from a chassis or stacked in multi-board configurations. Typical applications include control board mounting in HVAC equipment, electrical enclosures, and industrial panel assemblies. The hex body allows standard wrench or nut driver installation for repeatable torque without slipping. Thread depth on the female end is 0.25 inches, providing adequate thread engagement for 4-40 machine screws.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation standoff for circuit boards using 4-40 machine screw fastening patterns in standard electronic and electrical control assemblies.
Installation is performed by electronics technicians or licensed electricians during control board assembly or replacement. De-energize all equipment and discharge any capacitors before handling circuit boards or installing standoffs. Use a nut driver or open-end wrench sized for 0.1875-inch hex flats to seat the standoff without over-stressing the PCB mounting holes. Follow applicable NEC guidelines when installing control boards inside electrical enclosures.
