The ELECTRI-FLEX 80154 is a Type EF general purpose liquidtight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) designed for wiring applications that require both mechanical protection and resistance to moisture, oils, and coolants. Constructed from galvanized steel with a gray PVC jacket, it provides a secure raceway for conductors in environments where rigid conduit installation is impractical. The 80154 ships in a 150 ft coil with a 1-1/2 inch trade size, an inside diameter ranging from 1.575 to 1.6 inches, and an outside diameter ranging from 1.865 to 1.9 inches. It is rated for temperatures from -20 to 80 degrees C. Electricians use it for final connections to HVAC equipment, motors, compressors, and other machinery where vibration or movement is a factor.
This conduit is suited for commercial and industrial installations as well as residential HVAC applications. Common uses include final whip connections to rooftop units, condensing units, air handlers, and pumps where a flexible, liquidtight raceway is required by code. The 4-1/2 inch minimum bend radius allows routing through tight equipment enclosures without kinking. The galvanized steel core provides crush and abrasion resistance in demanding service environments.
Designed for use with standard 1-1/2 inch liquidtight flexible metal conduit fittings. Suitable for general purpose electrical wiring in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications where LFMC is specified or permitted by the NEC.
Installation of liquidtight flexible metal conduit must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 350 and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits before beginning conduit work. Use listed 1-1/2 inch LFMC fittings rated for the application and verify that the conduit is secured at intervals required by code. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of 4-1/2 inches to avoid jacket damage or conductor stress.
