The EKLIND TOOL CO 14232 is a long series hex L-key designed to drive internal hexagon socket fasteners, commonly called allen head fasteners. The key features a long arm measuring 8.5 inches and a short arm measuring 1.63 inches, sized for 1/2-inch hex sockets. It is manufactured from Eklind Alloy Steel that is heat treated, quenched, and tempered for optimum strength, torque, and ductility. A rust-resistant finish protects the tool in demanding shop and field environments. Mechanics, millwrights, equipment technicians, and general tradespeople keep this key in rotation for fastener work on machinery, structural assemblies, and mechanical equipment.
The 14232 long series L-key suits applications where extended reach is required to access recessed or deeply countersunk socket head fasteners. The long arm allows higher torque input, while the short arm fits into confined spaces. Typical use cases include assembly and disassembly of industrial machinery, HVAC equipment panels, pump housings, and structural mechanical connections where 1/2-inch allen head cap screws are specified.
Designed for use with standard 1/2-inch internal hexagon socket (allen head) fasteners found in industrial, mechanical, and trade applications.
This tool is used by mechanics, millwrights, and trade technicians for fastener installation and removal. Always ensure the key is fully seated in the fastener socket before applying torque to prevent rounding of the socket or key. Do not use extension cheater bars on the key arms, as this can exceed the design torque limits and cause tool failure. Follow applicable equipment service documentation for fastener torque specifications.
