The EKLIND TOOL CO 14220 is a 5/16-inch long-arm hex L key designed to drive internal hexagon socket fasteners, commonly called Allen head fasteners. The long arm measures 6 inches and the short arm measures 1.25 inches, giving technicians extended reach and leverage for recessed or hard-to-access fastener locations. The key is manufactured from Eklind Alloy Steel that has been heat treated, quenched, and tempered to deliver optimum strength, torque capacity, and ductility. A rust-resistant finish protects the tool in demanding shop and field conditions. This is a single-size, professional-grade hand tool suited for maintenance, installation, and assembly work across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and general trade applications.
The 14220 is used wherever 5/16-inch hex socket fasteners are present. The extended long arm allows the user to apply greater torque with less effort, while the short arm provides the control needed for final tightening in tight spaces. This tool is appropriate for residential and commercial service calls, equipment installation, and mechanical assembly tasks. It is sold in a unit of measure of each, with a package quantity of 6 units per pack.
Designed for use with any standard 5/16-inch internal hexagon socket fastener across mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and general trade applications.
No power source or lockout is required for hand tool use, but always de-energize and lock out equipment before servicing fasteners on electrical or mechanical systems per applicable safety codes. Select the long arm for driving and initial loosening, and switch to the short arm for final torque control and precision seating. Inspect the tool for wear or deformation before use and replace if the hex tip shows rounding or cracking.
