The ECM INDUSTRIES ps-50 is a 14-gauge polyethylene cable staple designed to secure non-metallic (NM) and underground feeder (UF) cable during rough-in electrical work. With a 0.5-inch crown width and a 1.25-inch leg length, this staple drives cleanly into wood framing without cutting into cable insulation. The white polyethylene body acts as an insulating sleeve, keeping the cable isolated from the fastener itself. Electricians and electrical contractors use these staples to meet NEC requirements for supporting and securing branch-circuit wiring along joists, studs, and other structural members.
These cable staples are suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where NM or UF cable must be fastened at consistent intervals per NEC code. The 0.5-inch crown width fits standard cable widths, and the 1.25-inch leg provides adequate penetration depth into dimensional lumber. White insulation color blends with common interior framing environments and matches the outer jacket of many NM cable products commonly used in branch-circuit wiring.
Designed for use with Non-Metallic (NM) and Underground Feeder (UF) cable types in standard residential and light commercial electrical installations.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following NEC requirements for cable support intervals. De-energize all circuits in the work area before stapling cable near existing wiring. Drive staples snug against the cable without crushing or deforming the jacket — overtightening can damage insulation and create a code violation. Use a hammer or compatible staple gun sized for 0.5-inch crown staples.
