The ECM INDUSTRIES LLC HWT-1138 is a heavy wall, adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing designed for insulating and sealing electrical splices in demanding environments. Starting at 1.1 inches inside diameter, it shrinks down to 3/8 inches inside diameter when heat is applied, creating a tight, moisture-resistant bond around the connection. Each piece is 6 inches long and rated for up to 600 volts. The adhesive lining melts during shrinking to fill voids and seal out moisture and chemicals. This tubing meets commercial and flame-retardant requirements per MIL-I-23053/15 and is sold in bags of 10 pieces.
This heat shrink tubing is suited for above-ground and below-ground electrical applications including splices, terminations, and wire bundle protection. Electricians and low-voltage technicians use it in residential, commercial, and industrial settings where a watertight, chemically resistant seal is required. The heavy wall construction and adhesive lining make it appropriate for underground direct-burial splices, conduit entries, and outdoor junction connections where exposure to moisture or corrosive environments is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use heat shrink tubing for electrical splice protection applications where 1.1 inches pre-shrink inside diameter and 600-volt rating are required.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians or qualified technicians. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the tubing using a heat gun, working from the center outward to prevent air pockets and ensure full adhesive flow. Follow applicable NEC requirements for the installation environment, particularly for underground or wet-location splices.
