The ECM INDUSTRIES LLC HWT-0722 is a heavy-wall, adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing designed to insulate and seal electrical splices in demanding above-ground and below-ground applications. Starting at 0.75 inches inside diameter, it shrinks down to 0.25 inches inside diameter, creating a tight, moisture-resistant seal around wire connections and terminations. Rated at 600 volts maximum, it meets commercial flame-retardant specification MIL-1-230 53/15. The adhesive lining bonds directly to the substrate as heat is applied, providing a mechanical and environmental barrier suited for harsh installation environments. Each piece is 6 inches long and sold in a bag of 10 units.
This tubing is used wherever electrical splices need protection from moisture, chemicals, and mechanical stress. Typical applications include residential and commercial wiring, HVAC low-voltage and line-voltage connections, underground conduit splices, and outdoor electrical enclosures. The dual-rated above-ground and below-ground suitability makes it a practical option for electricians and HVAC technicians working in wet, buried, or chemically exposed locations. Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style replacement or new-installation heat shrink solution for electrical splice protection in residential and commercial HVAC, electrical, and low-voltage wiring applications where 0.75-inch pre-shrink inside diameter tubing is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC technician. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any splice or connection. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, working from the center of the tubing outward, until the adhesive is fully activated and the tubing has shrunk uniformly. Do not use an open flame, as uneven heat can damage the tubing and compromise the seal.
