The ECM INDUSTRIES LLC HST-500W is a white polyolefin heat shrink tubing supplied in a 5-piece pack. Each piece measures 0.5 inches pre-shrink diameter, recovering to 0.25 inches, at 4 inches in length. The tubing carries a 2:1 shrink ratio and activates at 120 degrees Celsius (250 degrees Fahrenheit). It provides 600 volts per mil dielectric strength, making it suitable for insulating wire splices, terminals, and connector assemblies in demanding electrical and low-voltage wiring applications. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and pool and marine service professionals rely on this type of tubing for clean, durable insulation protection.
This heat shrink tubing is suited for residential and commercial electrical work, HVAC control wiring, pool equipment wiring, and any application requiring moisture and abrasion resistance on wire connections. It resists common fluids and solvents, making it appropriate for environments where exposure to cleaning agents, fuels, or hydraulic fluids is possible. The continuous operating temperature range of -55 degrees Celsius (-67 degrees Fahrenheit) to 135 degrees Celsius (275 degrees Fahrenheit) covers most field service environments.
Designed as a general-purpose heat shrink tubing solution for wire and cable insulation in electrical, HVAC, plumbing control, and pool equipment service applications where a 0.5-inch to 0.25-inch recovery diameter and 4-inch length are appropriate.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified trade technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before applying heat shrink tubing to any wiring. Apply heat evenly using a heat gun, working from one end to the other to prevent air pockets or uneven shrinkage. Avoid open flame tools, as uncontrolled heat can damage the tubing or adjacent conductors.
