The ECM INDUSTRIES LLC GSBC-3/0 is a copper split bolt connector rated for a maximum conductor size of 3/0 AWG. It accepts a wide range of solid wire from 2 AWG up to 000 AWG, making it a versatile solution for splicing or tapping conductors in branch-circuit and feeder applications. The connector is designed to be torqued with standard wrenches, so no specialized tooling is required. Electricians use split bolt connectors when making direct conductor-to-conductor connections that must maintain solid mechanical and electrical contact over the life of the installation.
This connector is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where copper conductors require a reliable mechanical splice or tap. Common install scenarios include service entrance splices, panel feeder taps, and grounding conductor connections. The broad wire-range acceptance from 2 AWG to 000 AWG means a single connector can handle both the run and tap conductors across a variety of circuit sizes without needing multiple SKUs on the truck.
Designed as an OEM-style mechanical connector for copper conductors ranging from 2 AWG to 000 AWG in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any conductor connections. Use a calibrated torque wrench or standard box wrench to tighten the bolt; do not over-torque, as this can damage the copper connector body. Wrap the completed connection with self-fusing or listed electrical tape rated for the application voltage if the connector is not installed in an enclosure.
