The ECLIPSE N490 is a Grade N48 neodymium rare earth disc magnet designed for applications requiring a strong magnetic hold in a compact form factor. Measuring 0.5 inches in diameter and 0.125 inches in height, this small-profile disc delivers a maximum pull force of 6.1 pounds. The neodymium rare earth construction provides high magnetic strength relative to its size. It is rated for use up to 248 degrees F, making it suitable for moderate-temperature environments. HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and general trade professionals use magnets of this type for sensor mounting, holding ferrous components during assembly, and retrieving dropped hardware in confined spaces.
This magnet is suited for light-duty trade and industrial applications where a compact, high-strength magnetic hold is needed. Its disc cylinder geometry makes it easy to integrate into fixtures, jigs, and magnetic mount assemblies. The 0.5-inch diameter and 0.125-inch height allow it to fit into tight clearances common in equipment panels, control enclosures, and mechanical assemblies. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both field service and bench work.
Designed as a general-purpose neodymium disc magnet suitable for use in trade, industrial, and light mechanical applications wherever a Grade N48 rare earth magnet of this diameter and height is specified.
Neodymium magnets produce strong attractive forces relative to their size and can snap together or to ferrous surfaces suddenly, causing pinch injuries. Handle individually and keep away from electronic components, magnetic storage media, and pacemakers. No tools are required for most mounting applications, but adhesive bonding or mechanical retention is recommended when permanent installation is needed. Keep away from elevated heat sources that exceed the 248 degrees F operating limit to prevent demagnetization.
