The EAZYPOWER 82384 is a 5/16-inch left-hand high-speed steel (HSS) drill bit engineered for broken fastener removal and pilot hole drilling ahead of screw extractor use. The 135-degree split point geometry prevents the bit from walking on contact, allowing precise starting without a center punch. Reverse-rotation drilling applies counter-torque to seized fasteners, which often backs them out before an extractor is even needed. HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general mechanical tradespeople keep this bit on hand for field repairs involving sheared or stripped screws and bolts.
This bit is used in residential and light commercial service work wherever broken fasteners are encountered — sheet metal panels, electrical enclosures, pipe flanges, equipment housings, and structural connections. It is sized at 5/16 inch to match common screw extractor sets that require a pilot hole of that diameter. The left-hand rotation means it must be used in a reversible drill driver set to reverse. The 135-degree split point reduces feed pressure and improves hole accuracy in steel, cast iron, and other ferrous materials.
Designed as a standard 5/16-inch left-hand drill bit suitable for use with reversible drill drivers and compatible with screw extractor sets requiring a 5/16-inch pilot hole.
This bit must be used in a variable-speed reversible drill driver set to reverse (counter-clockwise) rotation. De-energize or lock out any equipment before attempting broken fastener removal. Use cutting fluid or a drop of oil when drilling into hardened steel to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Do not exceed the drill manufacturer's recommended RPM for the bit diameter and material being drilled.
