The EATON TN225 is a twirl-nut style strut channel nut designed for use with 1/2 inch-13 threaded rod and standard strut channel framing systems. Manufactured from 12-gauge steel with an electro-plated zinc finish for corrosion resistance, this channel nut delivers a rated pullout strength of 1500 pounds and a slip strength of 1500 pounds. The twirl-nut design allows the installer to drop the nut into the strut channel slot and rotate it into position by hand, eliminating the need to slide the nut from an open end. Licensed electricians, plumbers, mechanical contractors, and pipe fitters rely on this hardware for securing threaded rod and support assemblies in strut-based installations.
The TN225 is suited for commercial and industrial applications where strut channel framing is used to support conduit, pipe, ductwork, cable tray, and mechanical equipment. It fits standard 1-5/8 inch strut channel profiles and is commonly installed in ceiling suspension systems, equipment support racks, and wall-bracket assemblies. The zinc plating makes it appropriate for dry and mildly corrosive interior environments. Mechanical and electrical contractors working to NFPA 70 (NEC) and ASME B1.1 threading standards will find this nut compatible with standard field hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style strut channel nut for use with 1/2 inch-13 threaded rod in standard strut channel framing systems.
Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians, mechanical contractors, or plumbers working on strut channel support assemblies. De-energize and depressurize any systems supported by the strut assembly before servicing hardware. Drop the TN225 into the strut slot and rotate 90 degrees to engage the channel flanges, then thread the rod and tighten with a standard wrench to the hardware specification for the application. Do not exceed the rated load values for the channel nut or the strut channel profile in use.
