The EATON TL-EK is a time-delay plug fuse emergency kit designed for residential and light-duty electrical circuits that include electric motors. Each kit provides a selection of Edison base plug fuses rated at 125 volts, covering 15 amps, 20 amps, and 30 amps. The time-delay design allows the fuses to withstand typical motor starting surges without nuisance tripping, while still providing reliable overcurrent protection. A Buss fuse tester is included in every kit. The Edison base format threads directly into standard fuse receptacles, making replacement fast and straightforward for electricians and maintenance professionals.
This kit is suited for residential panels and light-duty commercial service locations where plug fuse protection is required on motor-bearing circuits such as HVAC blower motors, sump pumps, and small compressors. The variety of amperage ratings in a single package makes the TL-EK a practical emergency stock item for service vans and maintenance facilities. Each kit contains one TL-15, two TL-20, and three TL-30 fuses along with the fuse tester.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Edison base plug fuse receptacles in residential and light-duty electrical panels rated at 125 volts. Compatible with circuits up to 30 amps on motor-containing branch circuits.
Installation and fuse replacement should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) requirements. Always shut off the main disconnect or the affected circuit before removing or installing a plug fuse to prevent arc flash and shock hazard. Verify the replacement fuse amperage matches the circuit rating before threading it into the receptacle. Do not substitute a higher-amperage fuse than the circuit is rated for, as this defeats overcurrent protection.
