The EATON SL-15PK4 is a medium-duty, time-delay plug fuse rated at 15 amps and 125 volts AC, sold in a 4-pack. It uses a rejection-base design with porcelain threads that physically prevent the installation of a higher-amperage fuse, protecting circuits from overcurrent misapplication. The extra-large clear window allows a technician to visually confirm a blown fuse without removing it. With a 10,000 A interrupting capacity (AIC), this fuse is built to handle the inrush current typical of motor loads while providing reliable overcurrent protection on branch circuits.
This fuse is rated for residential and light commercial branch circuits where motors, relays, or solenoids are present. Common installation locations include kitchen appliance circuits, garage circuits, and utility room panels. The time-delay characteristic accommodates the high inrush current drawn when an electric motor starts, preventing nuisance blowing while still protecting the circuit during a sustained fault. It is a direct plug-in replacement for standard Edison-base fuse holders that accept the SL rejection-base style.
Designed for use in residential and light commercial fuse holders that accept the SL rejection-base plug fuse format, including kitchen, garage, and utility room branch circuits containing electric motors, relays, or solenoids.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Always shut off power at the main panel and verify the circuit is de-energized before replacing a fuse. Confirm the fuse amperage matches the circuit rating before installation. Do not bypass or substitute a fuse with a higher amperage rating; the rejection-base design enforces this at the hardware level.
