The EATON NON-30 is a 30-amp, 250-volt general-purpose cartridge fuse designed for one-time, non-current-limiting overcurrent protection. Rated Class K5 with a 50,000 ampere interrupting rating (AIR) and ferrule-end construction, it provides reliable fault protection in lighting circuits and main panel applications where no time delay is required. Licensed electricians and panel technicians install this fuse in residential and light commercial distribution equipment as a straightforward, non-renewable protective device. Its compact ferrule form factor fits standard fuse blocks and disconnect switches rated for Class K5 cartridge fuses.
This fuse is suited for non-motor-load circuits including lighting branch circuits, feeder protection, and main panel service where large inductive loads are absent. It is not rated for circuits containing large electric motors, where time-delay fusing is required to handle inrush current. Applications include residential service panels, lighting contactors, and general-purpose fusible disconnects operating at 250 volts or below.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Class K5 cartridge fuse positions in standard 30-amp fusible disconnect switches, fuse blocks, and load centers rated for 250-volt ferrule-end fuses. Not suitable for motor-circuit or time-delay applications.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before removing or installing a fuse. Use an insulated fuse puller rated for the voltage class when extracting or inserting ferrule-end cartridge fuses. This is a one-time device — do not attempt to reuse a fuse that has operated.
