The EATON MEN6 is a time-delay midget fuse engineered for supplemental protection of high-inrush power electronic circuits. Rated at 6 amps and 250 volts AC, it carries a 10 kAIC interrupting rating at 125 volts AC. The fiber tube construction provides a compact, durable housing suited to panel and equipment installations where space is limited. This fuse is non-indicating, meaning it does not provide a visual blown signal, and follows a standard midget form factor. Electricians and equipment technicians install this fuse in control panels, power supplies, and electronic drive circuits where nuisance blowing from startup inrush current must be avoided.
The MEN6 is suited for residential and light commercial electrical equipment that requires supplemental overcurrent protection. Typical applications include power electronic circuits with high inrush characteristics, such as variable frequency drives, power supplies, and control transformers. Its time-delay characteristic allows the circuit to absorb brief inrush events without opening, while still responding to sustained overcurrent conditions.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for standard midget fuse holders and blocks accepting time-delay midget fuses in power electronic and control circuit applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lockout/tagout the equipment before replacing any fuse. Confirm the fuse holder is rated for the fuse voltage and amperage before installation. Do not substitute a fast-acting fuse in applications specified for time-delay protection, as nuisance opening or inadequate protection may result.
