The EATON hom230 is a double-pole, plug-in miniature circuit breaker rated for 30 amps at 120/240 volts AC. It uses thermal-magnetic trip technology to protect residential branch circuits from overloads and short circuits. The breaker features a common-trip mechanism, meaning both poles open simultaneously on a fault. A trip indicator window provides a clear visual signal when the breaker has tripped, making troubleshooting faster during service calls. Licensed electricians install this breaker in residential load centers and panelboards as a direct plug-on component.
The hom230 is designed for residential applications in single-family and multi-family housing. It is suited for 240-volt branch circuits such as dryer outlets, water heaters, and similar double-pole loads. The plug-on mounting style allows fast installation in compatible load centers and panelboards without additional hardware. It is rated for use at 50/60 Hz and accepts copper or aluminum conductors in the range of 14 to 8 AWG, or two copper conductors from 14 to 10 AWG.
Designed for use in HOM-series residential load centers and HOM panelboards that accept plug-on style breakers. Verify panel compatibility before installation, as breaker mounting styles are not universally interchangeable across manufacturer lines.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always shut off the main breaker and verify the panel is de-energized before handling internal components. Torque wire terminations to the value specified on the breaker label. Do not install this breaker in a panel that requires a different mounting style or a breaker with a higher interrupting rating than this unit provides.
