The EATON FH75 is a heater element designed for use with Type A and Type B overload relays. Heater elements set the thermal trip threshold inside an overload relay, protecting motors from sustained overcurrent conditions that cause winding damage. The FH75 installs directly into a compatible EATON overload relay block and is selected based on the full-load amperage of the motor being protected. Electricians and HVAC technicians use these elements when sizing or replacing overload protection on motor starters and contactors in both new installations and retrofit applications. Weighing 0.04 pounds and measuring 2.1 inches by 1.4 inches by 0.8 inches, the FH75 is compact and fits standard relay assemblies.
The FH75 heater element is applied in motor starter assemblies for compressors, blowers, pumps, and other single- or three-phase motor loads found in residential and commercial HVAC systems, industrial equipment, and mechanical rooms. Selection of the correct heater element is critical: the element must match the motor nameplate full-load amps and the specific overload relay model. Refer to EATON heater selection tables to confirm the FH75 is the correct element for the load and relay combination before installation.
Designed for use with EATON Type A and Type B overload relays. Confirm element selection against the motor full-load amperage rating and the EATON heater cross-reference table before installation.
Heater element replacement and motor starter service should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements. De-energize and lock out the disconnect feeding the motor starter before removing or installing any overload relay components. Verify the replacement element amperage range matches the motor nameplate FLA before closing the enclosure. Do not operate the overload relay with missing or incorrect heater elements installed.
