The EATON FH57 is a thermal overload relay heater element designed for use with EATON Type A and Type B overload relays. Heater elements set the trip threshold for the overload relay by generating heat in proportion to motor current draw. When current exceeds the rated value for a sustained period, the relay trips to protect the motor from overheating and damage. The FH57 is a direct OEM-style replacement sized for specific full-load ampere ranges. Licensed electricians and motor control technicians handle installation as part of motor starter and contactor assembly work.
This heater element is used in motor control applications across residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. It installs inside compatible EATON Type A and Type B overload relay blocks, which are commonly found in combination motor starters and across-the-line starter assemblies. It is suited for panel shop builds, field replacements, and maintenance upgrades where the correct heater element FLA range must be matched to the motor nameplate amperage.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement heater element for EATON Type A and Type B overload relays used in motor starter applications.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the motor control panel completely before opening the starter enclosure or handling the overload relay. Confirm the heater element FLA range matches the motor nameplate full-load amperage before installation. Do not install a heater element outside its rated current range, as this will result in improper motor protection.
