The EATON FH54 is a thermal overload relay heater element designed to provide motor overcurrent protection in combination with an overload relay. Heater elements like the FH54 are sized to match the full-load amperage of the motor being protected, generating heat proportional to current draw and tripping the relay when sustained overload conditions are detected. This type of component is standard in motor starter assemblies across industrial, commercial, and mechanical systems. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians handle selection and installation of heater elements as part of motor control center work.
The FH54 is a Type A and Type B compatible heater element for use in EATON thermal overload relays. It is applied in motor control circuits where thermal overload protection is required, including HVAC compressor starters, pump motors, fan motors, and general industrial motor loads. Heater elements are selected based on the motor nameplate full-load amperage and the specific overload relay model in use.
Designed for use with EATON Type A and Type B thermal overload relays. Confirm heater element selection against the motor nameplate full-load amperage and the overload relay manufacturer selection chart before installation.
Heater element installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified industrial maintenance technicians. Disconnect and lock out all power to the motor control panel before removing or installing any heater element. Verify the correct heater element amperage range against the motor nameplate and the relay selection table prior to installation. All work should comply with applicable NEC requirements for motor branch circuit and overload protection.
