The EATON BUSSMANN no.226-r is a non-indicating fuse reducer designed to install on fuse ferrules or blades, allowing smaller fuses to be used in fuse blocks or holders rated for larger amperage. Rated at 250 volts and 200 amps, this Class R reducer accepts fuses down to 60 amps, bridging the gap between an oversized holder and the correctly sized overcurrent protection device. Licensed electricians and industrial maintenance technicians use this reducer to adapt existing fuse infrastructure without replacing the fuse block or holder itself.
This reducer is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where fuse blocks or holders are designed for larger Class H(K), J, or R ferrule and blade fuses, but the circuit requires a smaller fuse size. It is a practical solution for panel upgrades, equipment retrofits, and situations where standardized fuse holders must accommodate reduced amperage branch circuits or load protection requirements.
Designed for use with Class H(K), J, and R ferrule and blade fuse blocks and holders. Installs on fuse ferrules or blades to permit the application of smaller fuses than those for which the fuse blocks or holders are rated.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before handling fuse reducers or fuse holders. Verify that the reducer class and voltage rating match the existing fuse block specifications before installation. Do not force the reducer onto incompatible ferrule or blade sizes.
