The EATON BUSSMANN mdl-2-r is a small-dimension, time-delay glass tube fuse rated at 2 amps and 250 volts AC. It is part of the Bussmann MDL Series and is designed for electrical circuit protection in electronic applications. The fuse features a circular glass tube body with nickel-plated brass ferrule end caps. It carries an interrupt rating of 100 AIC at 250 Vac and 10 kAIC at 125 Vac. The time-delay characteristic allows the fuse to tolerate brief inrush currents common in electronic circuits while still opening reliably under sustained fault conditions. Technicians and electricians working on industrial controls, safety systems, and electronic assemblies will encounter this fuse as a standard circuit protection component.
The mdl-2-r is suited for use in electronic circuits across a wide range of end-use environments including industrial facilities, factory safety and security systems, data centers, communications and telecom infrastructure, life science equipment, and residential electronics. Its compact small-dimension form factor fits standard ferrule-type fuse holders designed for axial-lead and panel-mount applications. The fuse is RoHS compliant and CE marked, making it appropriate for equipment sold in both North American and European markets. The voltage rating covers 250 Vac and 32 Vdc (self-certified).
Designed for use in standard ferrule-type fuse holders that accept the MDL small-dimension glass tube form factor, including applications with axial lead configurations in electronic circuit protection assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or electronics technician. Always de-energize and lock out the circuit before replacing fuses. Confirm the fuse holder is rated for the same voltage and amperage as the replacement fuse before installation. Do not substitute a fuse with a higher current rating to bypass a recurring fault condition — identify and correct the root cause of the fault first.
