The EATON BP/SL-20 is a medium-duty, time-delay plug fuse designed for residential branch circuits that serve electric motors, relays, and solenoids. Rated at 20 amps and 125 volts AC, it carries a 10,000 ampere interrupting capacity (AIC) and meets UL listing requirements. The SL-type rejection base uses porcelain threads that physically prevent the installation of any fuse with a higher amperage rating, eliminating a common and dangerous field mistake. An extra-large clear window gives technicians and inspectors a fast visual check on fuse condition without removing the fuse from the panel.
This fuse is suited for residential circuits in kitchens, garages, and utility rooms where motor loads are present. The time-delay characteristic allows motors and other inductive loads to draw their normal startup inrush current without nuisance tripping, while still providing overcurrent protection during a true fault condition. The BP/SL-20 ships in a 3-pack, making it a practical carry for service calls where multiple circuits may need replacement fuses.
Designed for use in standard residential screw-base fuse panels and fusible disconnects that accept SL-type rejection-base plug fuses rated 125V AC.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. Always open the main disconnect and verify the circuit is de-energized before removing or installing any fuse. Do not substitute a fuse with a higher amperage rating than the circuit is designed to carry. The SL rejection base is tamper-resistant by design and should not be modified to accept standard-base fuses.
