The EATON BP/S-8 is a heavy-duty, dual-element, time-delay plug fuse rated at 8 amps and 125 volts AC, built to the Fustat S-Type standard for rejection-base circuit protection. The dual-element design separates overload response from short-circuit response, allowing the fuse to ride through normal motor inrush current without opening while still providing fast protection against true fault conditions. Licensed electricians and HVAC technicians install this fuse in branch circuits that power motors requiring repeated start-stop cycling. The 10,000 ampere interrupting capacity (AIC) rating makes it suitable for demanding residential and light commercial electrical environments.
This fuse is designed for circuits supplying equipment such as air conditioners, furnace blowers, swimming pool pumps, and deep freezers — any application where a motor starts and stops frequently and standard non-time-delay fuses would open nuisance-trip on inrush. The rejection base is a built-in safety feature: the Fustat socket design physically prevents installation of a higher-amperage fuse than the circuit is rated for, eliminating the risk of over-fusing. The porcelain thread base is tamper-resistant and durable in high-temperature environments typical of load centers and fuse panels.
Designed as an OEM-compatible, rejection-base replacement fuse for Fustat S-Type fuse holders in residential and light commercial load centers protecting motor-driven equipment including air conditioners, furnace blowers, swimming pool pumps, and deep freezers.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for branch circuit overcurrent protection. Always shut off power at the main disconnect or panel before removing or installing fuses. Verify that the fuse amperage matches the circuit rating before installation — the rejection base will physically prevent insertion into an incompatible Fustat socket. Do not attempt to bypass, jumper, or modify the rejection base.
