The EATON BP/FRNR-20ID is a 20-amp, 250-volt Class RK5 time delay cartridge fuse sold in a 2-pack with the Bussmann easyID feature. The easyID indicator makes it fast to identify an open fuse during an outage without removing fuses one by one. Dual-element Fusetron construction uses separate overload and short-circuit elements: the overload element absorbs harmless, temporary motor inrush and overload currents without opening, while the short-circuit element responds quickly to fault-level current. Ferrule-end construction fits standard Class RK5 fuse holders. These fuses are a practical choice for electricians working on motor branch circuits and feeder protection in commercial and industrial panels.
The BP/FRNR-20ID is suited for motor circuit protection in commercial and industrial applications where temporary overloads are common, such as compressor starters, HVAC equipment, and pump panels. The 20-amp rating and dual-element design make it appropriate for branch circuits where nuisance opening under motor startup current is a concern. The 2-pack format supports in-panel sparing or direct replacement of a blown fuse with a spare on the same service call.
Designed as a direct replacement for FRN-R 20-amp Class RK5 ferrule-end cartridge fuse positions in standard 250-volt fuse holders accepting Class RK5 or Class H form-factor fuses.
Installation and replacement of branch circuit fuses must be performed by a qualified electrician in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize and lock out the panel before opening fuse holders or handling cartridge fuses. Use an insulated fuse puller rated for the voltage and ampere class — do not remove cartridge fuses by hand. Verify the replacement fuse ampere rating and voltage rating match the circuit overcurrent protection requirements before restoring power.
