The EATON BP/FRN-R-30 is a dual-element, time delay cartridge fuse rated at 30 amps and 250 volts, sold as a 2-pack. Carrying the Fusetron FRN-R designation, it belongs to UL-listed Class R with a 200,000 amp interrupting rating (AIR). The dual-element design serves two functions: it tolerates the inrush current that occurs during motor startup, and it opens the circuit before burnout when a sustained, hazardous overload is present. Ferrule-end terminations are standard on this 30A rating. Licensed electricians and motor control technicians are the primary installers of this fuse type.
This fuse is built for motor branch-circuit and feeder protection in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications. It is well suited for protecting single-phase and three-phase motor loads from overloads and single-phasing conditions. The time delay characteristic makes it appropriate wherever high inrush startup current would otherwise cause nuisance opening with a standard fast-acting fuse. It fits Class R fuse holders and rejection-style fusible disconnects designed for the FRN-R series.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for Class R rejection-style fusible disconnects and fuse holders rated for FRN-R series cartridge fuses at 250V, 30A.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the disconnect or panel before removing or inserting fuses. Verify that the fuse holder is a Class R rejection-style block rated for 250V and at least 30A before installation. Do not install a fuse in a holder that shows signs of heat damage, corrosion, or improper contact.
