The EATON A555 is an angled needle valve designed for precise flow control in low-volume fluid or gas lines. It features a compression inlet connection on the 1/4-inch side and a male National Pipe Taper Fuel (MNPTF) outlet on the 1/8-inch side. The body is constructed from brass, which resists corrosion and handles moderate working pressures up to 150 psi. The angled body geometry makes it well suited for installations where straight in-line routing is not practical. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics commonly use valves of this type to provide manual shutoff or throttling capability at instrument taps, gauge ports, and small-bore service lines.
The EATON A555 is used in residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems wherever a compact, angled manual shutoff or flow-control valve is required. Its compression-to-MNPTF configuration suits connections from copper tubing to threaded port fittings on equipment panels, manifolds, and pressure gauge assemblies. The small pipe size makes it appropriate for instrument lines, pilot lines, and secondary service ports rather than main supply runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service valve for small-bore compression-to-MNPTF needle valve applications in residential and light commercial HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, HVAC technician, or refrigeration mechanic following applicable local codes and IPC or IFGC guidelines. Shut off all system pressure and depressurize the line before removing any existing valve or fitting. When making the compression connection, hand-tighten the nut first, then advance with a wrench according to tubing material practices — do not overtighten. Apply thread sealant to the MNPTF threads before assembly and verify for leaks before returning the system to service.
