The EATON 900599-6S is a steel flared tube plug designed to cap or seal 37-degree flare fittings in hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid power lines. It threads in via a 9/16-18 SAE straight thread and seats against a 37-degree flare to create a leak-resistant mechanical seal. With a maximum working pressure of 4000 psi and an operating temperature range of -40 to 250 degrees F, this plug handles demanding line conditions. It is used by hydraulic technicians, plumbers, and fluid system installers who need a reliable, removable plug on active or inactive ports during service, testing, or equipment storage.
This plug is suited for use in industrial hydraulic systems, mobile equipment fluid lines, and any application requiring a 37-degree flare end connection with a 9/16-18 SAE thread. It is a common choice for capping off unused ports on valves, manifolds, cylinders, and tubing assemblies during maintenance or system commissioning. The 3/8 inch tube OD sizing fits standard JIC and SAE 37-degree flare tubing in that size range.
Designed as an OEM-style plug for 37-degree flare tube fittings with a 3/8 inch tube OD and 9/16-18 SAE thread, conforming to SAE standard 070109.
Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic or fluid systems technician. Depressurize and bleed down the system completely before removing or installing any fittings or plugs. Inspect the mating flare seat for damage or debris before threading in the plug, as a compromised seat will prevent a proper seal. Torque to the fitting manufacturer's standard specification for the thread size using appropriate wrenching flats.
