The EATON 6100X4 is a brass compression tube nut designed to secure 1/4-inch outside diameter tubing in SAE and NPTF fitting assemblies. The nut features a 7/16-24 thread size and measures 0.56 inches in overall length. Constructed from brass, it is suited for use across a wide temperature range of -65 degrees F to 249 degrees F. It meets ASA, ASME, and SAE standards, making it appropriate for plumbing, HVAC, and fluid-transfer applications where a reliable, leak-resistant tube connection is required. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers of this fitting component.
The 6100X4 is used in residential and light commercial systems where 1/4-inch OD tubing must be terminated or joined at an SAE or NPTF port. Common applications include refrigeration line sets, fuel lines, hydraulic circuits, and instrumentation tubing. The NPTF x SAE end connection configuration makes it compatible with a broad range of valve bodies, manifolds, and equipment ports found in HVAC, plumbing, and fluid-power installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service fitting for systems using 1/4-inch OD tubing with 7/16-24 SAE or NPTF threaded ports, consistent with ASA, ASME, and SAE standards.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, or qualified fluid-system mechanics. Depressurize and isolate the line before removing or installing any compression fitting. Use appropriate wrenches to avoid over-tightening brass fittings, which can crack the nut or distort the ferrule seat. Follow applicable codes including ASME B31 piping standards and manufacturer torque guidance for brass compression nuts.
