The EATON 345 is a knockout reducing washer designed to adapt a larger knockout opening to accept a smaller conduit fitting. Manufactured from steel, this washer seats into a standard knockout and reduces the opening from 1-1/4 inches down to 1/2 inch, allowing electricians to reuse existing knockouts when the installed conduit or fitting is smaller than the pre-punched hole. It is used with rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations in electrical enclosures, panelboards, junction boxes, and similar metallic enclosures.
This reducing washer is suited for commercial and industrial electrical work where conduit entries must be properly sized and sealed. Electricians use it when repurposing knockouts in existing enclosures or when a single enclosure requires multiple conduit sizes entering through the same knockout pattern. Its steel construction provides durability in standard indoor and outdoor raceway applications.
Designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit fittings in standard metallic electrical enclosures, panelboards, and junction boxes with 1-1/4-inch knockouts requiring reduction to 1/2 inch.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit entries and enclosure integrity. De-energize and lock out the enclosure before opening or modifying any conduit entry point. Seat the reducing washer fully and flush into the knockout before installing the conduit fitting and locknut. Ensure the fitting locknut is tightened securely against the washer to maintain a proper ground path through the enclosure wall.
