The EATON 3400X6 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting designed for industrial pipe systems requiring a compact directional change in a single connection. Machined from brass, this fitting accepts a 3/8-inch male NPT thread (MNPTF) on one end and a 3/8-inch female NPT thread (FNPTF) on the other, allowing it to thread directly into a pipe or fitting without a nipple. It carries a maximum working pressure of 1,200 psi and is rated for service from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and pipefitters install this type of fitting in compressed air, hydraulic, fuel, and fluid-transfer lines where a right-angle turn is needed at a threaded port.
This fitting is suited for both commercial and light industrial applications where a street-pattern elbow is needed to reduce overall assembly length. Common install scenarios include compressor manifolds, hydraulic control panels, fuel supply lines, and mechanical room plumbing where space is limited and a standard elbow-plus-nipple combination would add unnecessary length. Its brass construction makes it compatible with a wide range of media, including water, oil, and many non-corrosive gases, within its rated pressure and temperature envelope.
Designed as a standard MNPTF x FNPTF 3/8-inch street elbow for use in industrial pipe systems requiring NPT-threaded brass fittings within the rated pressure and temperature range.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable mechanical codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, following sealant manufacturer guidelines for the media being conveyed. Do not over-torque brass fittings, as excess force can crack the fitting body or damage mating threads.
