The EATON 3400X4W is a brass 90-degree street elbow designed for industrial pipe systems requiring a compact directional change in a single threaded connection. It combines a 1/4 inch male NPTF thread (MNPTF) with a 1/4 inch female NPTF thread (FNPTF) using short-thread classification, allowing the fitting to connect directly into a port or tee without a nipple. Rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure and suitable for temperatures ranging from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this fitting handles demanding fluid and pneumatic service conditions. It is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians wherever a 90-degree street turn is needed in a compact space.
This fitting is suited for industrial fluid power, compressed air, hydraulic, and general-purpose piping systems. The MNPTF x FNPTF short-thread configuration makes it a direct port-entry elbow, commonly used in manifolds, valve bodies, cylinders, and instrumentation headers. NPTF threads are designed for a pressure-tight seal on the threads themselves, but applying an appropriate thread sealant compatible with the system media is standard practice. Do not overtighten; hand-snug plus the appropriate number of turns per trade practice is sufficient to avoid cracking the brass body.
