The EATON 3400X4 is a 90-degree street elbow fitting designed for industrial pipe assemblies where a single fitting must change flow direction without requiring a separate union or nipple. It combines a 1/4-inch male NPTF thread on one end with a 1/4-inch female NPTF thread on the other, allowing it to thread directly into a fitting or valve while accepting the next run of pipe or tubing. Constructed from brass, the 3400X4 is rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians reach for street elbows when working in tight spaces where a standard elbow-and-nipple combination would not fit.
This fitting is suited for use in compressed air, hydraulic, fuel, water, and general industrial fluid systems operating within its rated pressure and temperature limits. Its MNPTF x FNPTF configuration makes it a standard choice in residential and light commercial plumbing, refrigeration equipment, compressor manifolds, and instrumentation lines where 1/4-inch NPT connections are common. Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable local codes and ASME B1.20.1 thread standards. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any pipe fittings. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads per job specifications, and hand-tighten before using a wrench to avoid cross-threading. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of 1,200 psi or the maximum temperature of 250 degrees F.
