The EATON 3325X8 is a male-threaded hex plug designed to seal pipe and fitting ends in industrial fluid and pneumatic systems. The plug uses a 1/2 inch MNPTF (male national pipe taper fuel) thread for a pressure-tight, tapered connection. It is rated for working pressures up to 1,200 psi and handles temperatures from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of hydraulic, pneumatic, and compressed-air applications. Pipefitters and industrial maintenance technicians are the typical installers.
This hex plug is used wherever a pipe port or fitting needs to be closed off temporarily or permanently. Common applications include capping unused ports on hydraulic manifolds, pneumatic valve bodies, or fluid distribution systems. The MNPTF thread standard ensures compatibility with standard NPT-ported components in industrial and commercial settings. Its compact overall length of 1-13/16 inches and 7/8 inch hex drive make it easy to install in tight spaces with standard hand tools.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service plug for industrial pipe systems using 1/2 inch MNPTF-ported components conforming to SAE 130137.
Installation is performed by a qualified pipefitter or industrial maintenance technician. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any pipe plug. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape appropriate for the service fluid before threading the plug into the port. Use a wrench on the 7/8 inch hex — do not over-tighten, as MNPTF tapered threads can crack cast ports if excessive torque is applied.
