The EATON 3220X6X2 is a straight pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/8 inch male NPT fitting to a 1/8 inch female NPT port. It connects using MNPTF x FNPTF thread forms, which provide a pressure-tight seal on the tapered threads. Rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure and rated for service from -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, this bushing handles demanding hydraulic and pneumatic plumbing applications. A 11/16 inch hex and 3/4 inch overall length keep installation straightforward with standard open-end or adjustable wrenches. Plumbers, pipefitters, and hydraulic system technicians use this type of reducer bushing when transitioning between two common NPT port sizes in fluid or gas distribution lines.
This bushing suits residential, commercial, and light industrial piping systems where a 3/8 inch NPT supply point needs to feed a smaller 1/8 inch NPT port or instrument connection. Common install scenarios include adapting gauge ports, sensor taps, control valves, and branch connections in hydraulic manifolds, pneumatic circuits, compressed air distribution, and general fluid handling systems. The straight body keeps the fitting compact and inline with the pipe run.
Designed as a standard MNPTF x FNPTF straight reducer bushing compatible with any 3/8 inch male NPT to 1/8 inch female NPT pipe connection meeting ASA, ASME, or SAE thread specifications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or qualified hydraulic technicians depending on the system type. Depressurize and isolate the line fully before removing or installing any pipe fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to tapered NPT threads unless the system design specifies dry assembly. Do not over-torque; tighten to snug plus the number of turns specified by the applicable piping standard for the thread size and material.
