The EATON 3152X8 is a straight brass hex plug designed to seal threaded pipe openings in industrial and mechanical piping systems. It uses a 1/2 inch MNPTF (male national pipe thread fuel) connection and is rated to 1,200 psi maximum working pressure. The operating temperature range spans -65 degrees F to 250 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of fluid handling and pneumatic applications. The hex drive profile accepts a standard wrench for controlled installation torque. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians install this type of fitting when capping unused ports on manifolds, valves, and distribution headers.
This hex plug is used in residential and commercial piping systems where a threaded port requires a pressure-rated seal. Typical applications include fuel lines, hydraulic circuits, compressed air systems, and water distribution headers. The 1/2 inch MNPTF thread is one of the most common pipe sizes encountered in trade work, and the brass construction provides corrosion resistance in both wet and dry service environments. It is sold individually and ships as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement hex plug for systems using standard 1/2 inch MNPTF threaded ports rated to 1,200 psi or lower.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber, pipefitter, or qualified HVAC technician. Always depressurize and isolate the system before removing or installing threaded pipe fittings. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before installation, following system fluid compatibility requirements. Refer to applicable IPC, IFGC, or ASME piping codes for torque and inspection requirements in your jurisdiction.
