The EATON 2024-8-6S is a 90-degree male elbow fitting designed for flared tube connections in high-pressure fluid and gas line applications. It features a 3/8-inch tube outside diameter and a 1/2-inch male NPT thread on the run end, with a 37-degree flare seat conforming to SAE standard 070202. The fitting is machined from steel for durability under pressure, rated to a maximum working pressure of 8000 psi. It is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians working on hydraulic, pneumatic, or refrigerant-adjacent hard-line systems where a direction change from tube to threaded pipe is required.
This fitting is suited for residential and commercial applications where steel flare-to-NPT transitions are needed. It accommodates tube with a 3/8-inch OD and mates to 1/2-inch NPT female ports on valves, manifolds, or other components. The 90-degree elbow geometry is used when routing lines around obstructions or changing direction in tight equipment enclosures. The wide operating temperature range of -65 degrees F to 400 degrees F makes it compatible with both refrigeration and high-temperature fluid service.
Designed for use with 3/8-inch OD flared tubing and 1/2-inch NPT female-ported components in steel hard-line plumbing, hydraulic, and HVAC applications conforming to SAE 070202.
Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter, plumber, or HVAC technician. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before disassembling any fitting. Apply thread sealant appropriate for the media and pressure rating to the NPT threads; do not apply sealant to the flare seat. Ensure the mating tube end is properly flared to 37 degrees before tightening to avoid leaks or seat damage.
